Seeking 10 influential Hispanics before April 30, 2015

9th National Awards Program Returns to Toronto

Toronto, April 8, 2015 - Nominations for the 9th annual edition of the “10 most influential Hispanic Canadians” national awards program were declared open by both the Hispanic Business Alliance (HBA) and the Canadian Hispanic Congress (CHC). Influential Hispanics from across the nation can be nominated until April 30, 2015 at midnight. Prime Minister Stephen Harper has privately met with past winners at his office in Parliament Hill.

With 80 awardees representing 17 countries from 7 provinces, the “10 most” has had a presence in Vancouver, Montreal, Ottawa, Saskatchewan, Calgary and Toronto. Ms. Nuria Lissette Rajo, President of the CHC stated “The Pan Am/ParaPan Games are strongly rooted within the Hispanic and Latin American communities around the world. These awards are a wonderful opportunity to recognize and celebrate the work and accomplishments of Hispanics in Canada”. The CHC is a national organization established in 1983 to represent the interests and aspirations of Hispanics in Canada.

The awards ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, July 25 in Toronto as part of the upcoming Latin American Pavilion, which will be opened during the same time as the Toronto 2015 PanAm/ParaPan American Games.  (read more...)
