Nov. 1, 2018 - On November 1st in Vancouver, the only national Hispanic awards program and the most important Latin American company in Vancouver will offer the most important night for Latin and Hispanics. A guest of international stature will be the keynote speaker with the Mayor in Vancouver also expected in attendance - details to come.
$100,000 ILAC Hispanic Scholarships for women announced
May 30, 2018, Toronto. Once again, the International Language Academy of Canada (ILAC) and the Canadian Hispanic Business Alliance (CHBA) take the lead in promoting education with $100,000 in scholarships and mentoring for women from Spanish speaking countries to study English in Canada. This is on top of the $120,000 that CHBA has raised for the Hispanic/Latino Scholarships at Ryerson University. The winners of ILAC’s scholarships will be announced this fall at the 12th annual edition of TD’s “10 most influential Hispanic Canadians”, organized by CHBA.

May 3, 2018 - Ottawa. Canada’s Minister of International Trade -Hon. Francois Philippe Champagne, Minister of Science -Hon. Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Infrastructure -Hon. Amarjeet Sohi, Peruvian Canadian Senator Rosa Galvez, Argentinian Canadian Pablo Rodriguez (Member of Parliament Honore Mercier, Chief Government Whip) and Mexican Canadian Julie Dzerowicz (MP Davenport) met last Monday in Ottawa with twenty influential Hispanics. The group, which discussed issues of importance to our community, also interacted with several Ambassadors at the Mexican Embassy. Nominations for TD’s “10 most influential Hispanic Canadians”, now celebrating its 12th anniversary, were also declared open until May 31, 2018. The awards ceremony will take place in the fall in a city to be announced.
